Over training injuries have become one of the biggest issues facing youth sport today. Especially with sporting codes seasons having increasingly overlapped their traditional seasons, often our young athletes are being pushed too hard – far too young.

Especially while they are going through such a critical physical and mental growth phases, it’s so important that they have the necessary ‘time out’ to recover & recharge.

This is the only way we can help them avoid debilitating injuries, but also ensure they don’t simply burn out mentally and lose interest in playing sport altogether.

Of course coaches and schools have got a huge responsibility in this area – but only if coaches and parents are on the same page with workloads, can the best interests of our young athletes truly be prioritised.
